January 2019 Technique

Hello Everyone. Today over at the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge blog we are being hosted by Andreja again. This being the 4th week of the month it is time for a Stash or Technique Challenge. Andreja has chosen
I must admit to not doing this technique often. I mean I have all the supplies but it and I don't get along very well. But this is the card that I made for the challenge
I have to admit to this being my 3rd go at this technique I was getting ready to chuck everything in the bin. I was not having a good crafting morning. But I went with this stamp and using clear embossing powder and I liked most of the panel I created. So I salvaged what I could and came up with this card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card creation. Why not come on over and play along with our latest challenge. I look forward to seeing you over there. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

While in the middle of my disaster I definitely had to find the element of fun to find a way to finish my project. Sometimes finding the fun or the purpose as to why you started something can help you find your way through.

Happy Ewe

Hello Everyone. A birthday card to fill out my stock a little. I looked at what I have and I am low on most types of cards. I did make this card though
I decided to keep the image a little simple and only coloured the hat and balloons. The papers are actually a kitchen inspired set but I liked how these papers looked together so I went with them. Everything is matted with a custard yellow light card stock. And I was inspired by sketch #487 from Tuesday Morning Sketches
This card was also inspired by Cute Card Thursdays Challenge - Critters
Since I like sheep I decided to make a card with a cute Bugaboo Image - Circle Sentiments - Birthday Ewe. I am a part of a spinning group and I think that this card will suit someone from there quite nicely.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. As always before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
I like to learn new things. I sometimes try to learn a new technique or sometimes I try to make something without a pattern just to see if I can. I am actually doing this at the moment - I am trying to crochet a bag that I want because I can not find a pattern for it! Will have to see how it goes.

Live Life Fully

Hello Everyone. An encouragement card this time around. I have had a few things come against me and I have been reminded that we should live each day no matter what we have to go through. So I made this card to send to someone whom I think needs this encouragement.

And this card started with this sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Their Design Team is looking for extra people at the moment.

When I first saw this sketch I was a little intimidated by it. I was wondering how I was going to swing putting all the elements onto a card and still have it look good. So I went through my paper pad stash to see what would spark some interest. I found Kasiercrafts Tea Party and with it was the collectable set as well. The middle elements are from the collectable set and the other elements are all papers from the pad. I used some distress inks on elements because I wanted things to stand out more without adding more layers.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
I think that these are great daily reminders for everyone. I think that I am going to print this out for myself but also who I am going to send this card too. Sometimes reading stuff like this can help you see whatever you are going through in a totally different way.

Crafting the Blues

Hello Everyone. Well I haven't been crafting the blues I have been crafting with blue based products. And I had a lot of fun putting everything together.

And yes this time around I did get out a sketch to work with it is this one again from Sketch Saturday

I don't usually work with such dark coloured papers but I really like the variety and patterns that have been used in this paper pack. This paper pack is from Kasiercraft and it is "Stargazer". I matted everything with dark blue card stock. The sentiment is from the paper pack it is one of the papers which has some printed sentiments on it.

Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought.
I am blessed with everything that I need but sometimes I forget what I have. I am working towards goals but with Gods help. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project.

Instead of Tweeting

Hi Everyone. I had the chance to make and upload another card today. And this card was in the works for the Bugaboo Birthday Celebrations but I missed the deadline. But I wasn't going to waste the image that I had coloured up.

And this time around - now don't fall off your chair - I didn't use a sketch this time around 😱 Yeah I know very unusual for me! But I am really happy with the results even without that starting point. The card was inspired by a challenge though
I went from the top left in a diagonal route so I went with - Tab, Players Choice, Dots and Stripes. The paper pad helped with the Dots and Stripes it is from My Minds Eye Life of the Party. This is another from the bottom of my paper stash - so good to be using these pads up. The image is Bird Greetings - Sweet Birdday from Bugaboo and it's still available. The sentiment tags I made myself on my computer.

Thanks for stopping in and looking at my card project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Dance Your Way

Hello Everyone. I am sharing with you a card that was inspired by 2 challenges but came together once I found the sentiment that I used.

I have always loved this saying and I had a chance to use it in conjunction with the challenge from Time Out Challenges
And to bring everything together I went looking for a sketch to work with and I found this one over at Sketch Saturday
The measurements that I have given are to make a rectangle (A6) card front. To make a square card I would just use a 12cm squared card front.

The paper pack that I used is Fine and Sunny by Kasiercraft. This isn't available anymore as it has been sitting in my stash for quite a few years. I found the heart gem in a boxed of mixed decorations and thought that it would just finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

A have 2 friends who are like this and I am always grateful for them. I hope you have someone like this in your life.

A Rose for You

Hello Everyone, I am bringing this card to you today via my favourite starting place a sketch. I was having not the best of days but felt up to going into my craft space. So to help with my creating today I started somewhere familiar even though it was a new to me sketch. And this is the result of starting somewhere familiar
and this is the sketch that started off my crafting today
I can see that I may end up using this sketch again. It was fun trying to put 4 different papers together and it could be used with many different images. The paper pad that I used is Kasiercraft's Misty Mountains I just love the mix of colours in this set. The image that I used is an older one by Bugaboo Word Art Rose.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project today. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
Today I have felt like that I haven't been achieving much but then I remembered this turtle. And it helped me to keep crafting because I was doing stuff even though it was slower than I would like.

January 2019 Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone, Today I am pleased to show you the next challenge for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Since it is the 3rd week of the month we have a theme and this time around Andreja has given us this

I have to admit that this theme stumped me for quite a while. But I did come up with this card. This is a card that is on the simpler side but I am really happy with how it all came together.

To help me make a few design decisions I turned to a sketch to help pull things together and this is the one that I used

October 2015
I used several dies and my Cuttlebug to make the image area stand out since I was keeping the image simple. To help keep the image simple I have only coloured the star, used some painters tape to make the shape of the beam. To colour the beam I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink plus a mini sponge tool.

I found this sentiment from another stamp set and I stamped it with my black ink and my small stamping platform to make sure I got a clear impression and this finished off my card. I hope that you will stop by our challenge blog and see what the other members have been up to. And before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Something to remember when faced with an obstacle. Sometimes getting through is as important as to what you were facing.

It is your day

Hello Everyone, Another card made for the Bugaboo Birthday Celebrations. This is for Day 2 - a Sketch Challenge. If you have been to my blog before you will know that I love using sketches for my card making. This is the sketch that everyone is getting to play with ...

As I like to do I have included the measurements for those who may be interested. And this is the card that I made following this sketch.

I have used an older digi image from Bugaboo but it is still a favourite of mine. The sentiment is my own that I did up in the computer before I printed off the image. These papers are ones that have been sitting in my stash for ages.but I liked the circle elements because I thought it suited the basketball theme.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought.

The first part of this quote I know; the second part I sometimes forget. When I forget I try to do things under my own steam and things don't go right. I want to be more willing to give my whole life over to Christ.

Monster Sized Mess

Hello Everyone, I am back from our break away and in my craft space πŸ˜ƒ So I decided to work on the projects for the Bugaboo Birthday Celebrations because I didn't have supplies with me that I could work on them. So this card is suited to Day 1 which is

I don't actually have any of their monster images even though they are really cute. I also don't have anyone who would be suited  to these images so I used a favourite Bugaboo image of mine. It is Scene it - Birthday Bears and it is still available. And this is the card that I made

I think that this image still fits the theme because these cute bears have definitely made a monster sized mess. Though I think that they have a lot of fun in creating it.πŸ˜‰ And of course you know that this card was helped along by a sketch - this time around I have made another card for the Stella Says Sketch challenge which is this one

You can see that this time I have tipped the sketch on its side. I had such fun making this card and I want to thank you for stopping by. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

This is something that I am going to try to do more of this year. I want to be able to walk through what is ahead knowing that God walks with me.

Best Friends

Hello Everyone, Yes another card ... well when you have time why not craft! Even when on holidays. So I had some time spare today and made another card.

When I saw this sketch from Atlantic Heart

I thought that I wouldn't be able to make anything but then I remember that in my crafting supplies along with the Kasiercraft "Sweet Pea" Paper Pad I also brought along the collectables. These collectables are card stock weight die cuts and such which you can add to any project.

So I went looking in this and found the Scalloped circle, Tag and Sentiment circle and these stacked well together. I matted everything with maroon card stock including the diagonal piece to give it a little more definition from the striped back paper.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look at my card. Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is having a design team call at the moment which I am going to enter. If you have seen more of my blog you know that I love using sketches so I would love to be a part of a Sketch Challenge Blog. But before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

I am trying to take on more of the opportunities that God is putting in front of me. Believing that I am finding them when God will help me to make the most of it. More has been coming my way.

Get Well Wishes

Hello Everyone,
Another card made while I am away on holidays with my family. I always travel with my craft supplies - actually it's the first thing that I packπŸ‘ But now we can travel with my laptop and internet so that I can continue to craft which is what I love doing. As I am typing this we are all doing our own things - reading, playing games and colouring.

But anyway onto the reason I am sure that you stopped by my blog today - to see my project

This is a digi image from Bugaboo Stamps called Kidz Rose Boy. Using him this time around I decided to make a get well card because who wouldn't want to find this cutie on their doorstep if they were feeling a little under the weather. I coloured him in with my Copic markers and the grass as well. But after I had finished with them I used my Polychromos pencils to add more depth and the very light fluffy clouds in the background.

But as you may know about me I love starting with a sketch and this card is no different. This time I around I used the latest sketch from Sketch Saturday

I had some fun with the holographic stickers that I bought on camp with me and added some instead of the button detail. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project. Before you go I would like to leave you with this final thought

Where our travels have taken us this time around. A beautiful place to visit, I love coming here. I like going to places where I have been before but exploring different and new areas. The weather has been kind to us.

Sympathy Hard to Craft

Hello Everyone,
The kind of card I am sharing with you today is on a subject that we all find hard to make for. Sympathy cards are hard to make for because I think that we don't want to get it wrong. But this occasion is just a part of our lives. All of us will eventually go through it - but the cards we make are for those left behind. I don't like making these but I do need them so I am going to make them while I don't need them so I am not having to make it when I do need one.

This card is made with an older image from Bugaboo Stamps but I still love using it for all different kinds of occasions. This time I coloured it in with my Polychromos pencils. I definitely need more practice using these. The digi image was printed with the plaid paper behind it. The way I put this card together came about by my use of a sketch this time it's from Stella Say Sketch Challenge.

This is the first sketch for the year from this challenge site. The papers are from a Kasiercraft paper pad called 'Sweet Pea'. All of my matting is done with some Sunshine Yellow paper. My sentiment comes from Uniquely Creatives Banner Sentiment Builder clear stamp set. I like this set as its quite useful for many different occasions.

Thanks for coming by to look at my project please consider leaving a comment before you leave to let me know that you have stopped on by. And also before you go I would love to leave you with this final thought

Thinking about the end of life makes me consider what I will be leaving behind when I do go. Is what I am going to leave how I want to be remembered? Some things yes other things not so much. So I am working on changing the things I'm not so happy with. What about you - will you be remembered in the way you want to be?

January Colour Challenge

Hello Everyone,
Today over on the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge it is week two of the month which means we are bringing you a colour challenge. And our host Andreja has chosen this colour combination for us to play with

When I was first told about this combination I thought that it was very different. And it was going to take me out of my comfort zone. I mean don't get me wrong I love Purple and I also like Green but I have never used them on a Christmas card before. But this is the card that I have come up with.

Before I made this card I had to look through my stash to see if I actually had some papers that fitted the colours and luck was on my side. I had gotten a magazine that included Christmas papers that had these colours in it ... Yeah Happy Dance!! But I didn't really know how to pull it all together so I went to my favourite starting point a sketch and I found this one from 52 CCT

It was a simpler design but I knew that I could work with it. The papers had these stitched looking trees which I thought I could make into the main element. All I had to do was add a piece of sand coloured card stock which I used distress ink around the edge for the trunks. Then I found in my sticker stash my holographic circle stickers which I put on the trees for lights and I also had this Seasons Greetings as well and thought it set the card off nicely. Instead of using some paper for the strip I dug into my washi tape collection to find just the right one - this one is a little see through but I liked the design. And this finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my Design Team project. I would love it if you came and played along with our colour combination this week but also the fun upcoming challenges as well. See you around at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Challenge.

Home is where you are

Hello Everyone,
This time around the card that I am sharing with you is a combination of 2 challenges – a sketch and a theme. I like combining challenges when I can because it can make the card making a bit more of a challenge. And this is the card that resulted in this combination

So as I said this card is made from combining 2 challenges firstly a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
and then a theme challenge from Time Out Challenges
e8ea4-Time2BOut2BChallenge2B126
I do hope that you think that this card suits the theme challenge. I thought that it did because you can love the home you are in because of the people you spend time with there.
I must say that this cards colour combination is something different for me. I don’t do a lot of cards with such muted tones but I feel in love with the papers that are in this papers pack. The paper pack is Twilight by one Canoe two.
The sentiment is actually one of the cutouts that is included with the paper pad. The word background is made from a stencil and some distress ink. I think that this card could be suitable for many people.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my project please consider liking or commenting. Before you go I would like to leave you with this last thought

Oh today has been bad! My mind/thoughts have been going every where. Probably because I am trying to do too much which means my mind can not settle on one thing. I hope that as I do get some things done things will settle down.
