Birthday Wishes

Hello Everyone,
I have been away for a little while but now that my space is updated and I can work there again I want to get back into entering challenges. So to test out my new area I went to one of my favourite challenges and went about making a card and this is the outcome.
This card started with me finding this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
I loved making this card on my new table! I was using my Cuttlebug and also hand punches and my stamping tool and I didn't feel cramped for space after making each of the elements. I am really going to love creating in my new space ... thanks Hubby!
The papers for the card came from a really old My Minds Eye paper pack which has been sitting in my stash with just some pieces left. This year I am trying to use up the stash that I have before adding majorly to it. The maroon layers are staples in my stash and always topped up. But the flower and swirl elements are all from a drawer where I keep solids that are cut off from other projects but are too small to be used for a main element on a card.
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card project. I am happy to be back crafting and blogging again. Before you go I would like to leave you with this thought
This is so true! I experienced the other side of this a little while my Hubby and I were updating my space. I wasn't able to be as crafty as I usually am and I did feel a little out of sorts because of it. I am so happy to have my space back.

Until Next Time,

January 2019 Theme Challenge

Hello Everyone, Today I am pleased to show you the next challenge for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. Since it is the 3rd week of the month we have a theme and this time around Andreja has given us this

I have to admit that this theme stumped me for quite a while. But I did come up with this card. This is a card that is on the simpler side but I am really happy with how it all came together.

To help me make a few design decisions I turned to a sketch to help pull things together and this is the one that I used

October 2015
I used several dies and my Cuttlebug to make the image area stand out since I was keeping the image simple. To help keep the image simple I have only coloured the star, used some painters tape to make the shape of the beam. To colour the beam I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink plus a mini sponge tool.

I found this sentiment from another stamp set and I stamped it with my black ink and my small stamping platform to make sure I got a clear impression and this finished off my card. I hope that you will stop by our challenge blog and see what the other members have been up to. And before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Something to remember when faced with an obstacle. Sometimes getting through is as important as to what you were facing.

Have a Happy Crafty Kind of Day,

Dog Dreaming

Hello everyone. I am sharing with you a card that is based actually on several challenges. All of these challenges just worked together. And I think that I came up with a card that I am really happy with.

I found this image over at All Dressed Up digital images and I think that he is just adorable. He is a free image and you can get him here. I thought that he could be daydreaming so I found this bone image and printed both of these on white card stock. I coloured both of these images with my Copic markers. Then I used my Scan N Cut to first cut around the dog image then I put the bone in a scalloped oval and cut 2 smaller one as well to make the bubbles.

To start off this card I found the image then I found a sketch that I could use to give me an idea of how big to print out the dog and his bone. And this is the sketch that I found

And I have included my measurements for sketch #483 from Tuesday Morning Sketches. The leaves behind Dog are cut using some die cuts from Kasiercraft and light green paper and then sponged with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. The background paper was bought in a 6x6 paper pack already clear embossed with the words of encouragement and I used embossed letters for my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my card today. And before you go I would like to leave you with this thought

Around our place at the moment it is predicted that we will possibly see around 250mls of rain in the next 48hrs. Which could include thunderstorms and high winds. We need the rain because so much of Australia is in drought but this type of rain can cause flash flooding which isn't good either. See you all on the other side of the storms.

Have a Happy Crafty Kind of Day,
